Check your visa Stamp
Once you receive your passport back please check the following details on your visa stamp:
Visa Stamp Validity V/s Duration of Stay
Validity of the visa stamp and duration of stay in the USA is always different. USA visa stamp is used only to enter in the country. The duration of the stay can be determined by the immigration officer at the Port of Entry. Even if you enter the USA on the last day of visa validity, you may be allowed to stay for up to six months. The duration of stay will be determined by the date mentioned in paper I-94 form given at the time of entry in the United States. the I-94 needs to be retained till the end of your visit.
Once you receive your passport back please check the following details on your visa stamp:
- Name is spelled correctly as per your passport.
- Date of Birth and Gender is correct.
- Issue date and expiry date of the visa
- Visa type i.e. B1/B2
- If your visa stamp contains any wrong information then contact US Embassy to correct it immediately.
